Breaking - 6 injured in copycat tagging attack - school on lockdown
headlines from the future...

6 injured, 2 in critical condition - tagger still on the loose

Attleboro, MA - Shockwaves ripped through this sleepy town south of Boston Wednesday morning, as police officials are reporting the latest in a recent wave of tagging attacks plaguing American elementary schools.

"The only information we have at this moment is that a student excused himself to the bathroom just before the first recess bell and sneaked outside to hide in some bushes. As the other students poured out onto the playground, the attacker sprang from his hideout and mercilessly chased and tagged the other children," said Police Chief Richard Edmundson.

After the surprise attack, the student ran back into the school, which has been on lockdown and surrounded by police since they arrived.

"It was awful," said 2nd grader Matt Fox, 7. "He just came out of nowhere and started tagging everyone he could. One kid fell and scraped his knee and another was so scared he peed his pants. There was blood and pee everywhere." Fox then continued crying and asked where his mommy was.

It was eerily reminiscient of another tagging attack that took place 3 years ago in Knoxville, TN, when two disgruntled students launched a surprise attack that left 13 children out and 4 with scraped knees and elbows. That still remains the deadliest tagging incident in the nation's history.

With the attacker still in the building, school officials are fearing the worst.

"Not all of our students take recess at the same time, so there were still a lot of kids in the building when he ran back inside," said school principal Gaylene Heppe. "Our fear is that he could just be running from classroom to classroom, tagging kids at will and without mercy." Heppe added, "Oh God, won't someone please think of the children?"

A SWAT team is standing by, preparing to storm the school in a desperate attempt to save the remaining students.

More as the story develops.

7. I blame the school.
Obviously, the kids weren't wrapped in sufficient layers of cotton wool, or their injuries would have been much less severe.

What were children doing walking anyway? God gave us SUVs so the nightmare of bipedal locomotion could be eradicated forever.

If teachers would just carry their students around all day, these kinds of tragedies could be avoided.
