Lincoln Mark LT pickup. Huh?

Now when the Ford Motor Company actually (occasionally) made cars that ran instead of just focusing on losing as much money as possible, they sold vehicles under the Lincoln make with model names in the form of Mark ___ where the blank was filled in with Roman numerals. So is LT some Roman numeral I haven't encountered before, or do they just not care anymore? I have also encountered a Ford Explorer XLT, which I interpreted to convey "extra large truck," but who knows? Maybe they're trying to say 40 T.:P

As for the Lincoln, what better way to say, "Not only can I afford the gas but also $40K for a faked up F-150"?

1. Seriously
why does the truck need to be that big? I know, I know, some people DO need trucks, but I repeat. Why does it have to be that big? I know trucks weren't always that big.

And look at it. Those wheels. Those rims are NOT going off road. It's got lowered suspension for heaven's sake!

That is not a truck for performing honest work. That is a preening, posing, show-off machine. So why does it need to be so big?

2. I remember when this started happening.
Because I was working in a factory that paid very good wages and all of a sudden the size of the trucks in the parking lot scared me. They were just towering over everything, and one by one the normal size trucks started disappearing and these monstrosity replaced them. It freaked me out.

3. Big in what way?
I mean that looks like a 4x2 with a short bed and crew cab. It's added about 30 inches for the rear bench seat. Which if you ocassionallly had to take kids with you is a good thing since it is better thanb putting the child seat up front and disabling the air bag.

But other than length it doesn't appear any larger than the old F-100.
