17. Thousands and thousands of turduckens were lost last year

in the aftermath of Katrina and the ensuing power outages; it is, perhaps not surprisingly, a Louisiana specialty, and some of the largest suppliers are in the New Orleans area. Many had already made and frozen their turduckens for last Thanksgiving. Oops.

But this year, all the turduckens are once again pecking happily away at whatever grain grows alongside the bayou :-) , so go ahead and get one, if you're feeling adventurous and are having a large (~20 people) Thanksgiving dinner, that is.
