Ok, brats, here's how it works
You say Trick or Treat.
I give you candy.
You say Thank you.

You do not
- grab more candy out of the bowl
- tell me you need more
- push your little sister out of the way

And to the mom standing by watching all this and saying nothing, YOU SUCK! Seriously, what is wrong with people.

after I'd given him one. WTF? I grabbed them back.

5. I guess I should have just let him take the whole bowl?
B/c that's an ok lesson to learn. This wasn't a little kid. Certainly of the age that he should have a clue what's acceptable behavior.

9. No. I was actually very calm
and said "No you already got yours." Obviosuly, he's not learning that lesson at home.

Yeah, I'm totally becoming the cranky old lady (at the ripe old age of 30 :-) )

10. Depends on whether we're talking little pieces of candy, or actual
candy bars...

12. I give the fun size. We get a fair # of kids, houses are close together
Judging by the size of their bags, they aren't hurting for candy. Growing up, I lived on a street with the houses very far apart and set back, so the treats were better, but we also knew all of our neighbors. Aside from the little ones across the way (3 yr old did say TY), I don't know any of them.

8. I also get very disgusted that such a SMALL percentage of the kids say
thank you.

What the fokkity-fok is wrong with parents today, that such very basic things are not being taught???

11. Yeah, then I realize these are the adults that I encounter in the stores, on the metro,
on the roads, etc. and it all makes sense. Rather unfortunate.

14. We're seeing quite a lot of kids
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 07:41 PM by Scooter24
tonight. So far I'd say about 30 kids have come. Most have been very polite, parents are smiling and it seems everyone is having a good time. I hope more show up because I'm giving several handfuls to each of 'em. Since this is our first house we went overboard and got about $350 worth of candy.

Oh the joys of being kids.

Happy Halloween! :D

It's flying out of here fast!

The boyfriend, however, wouldn't let me put a little card with the candy saying "This candy provided to you by the Democratic Party" :P

18. wow that isn't right...
all the kids around here, we probably got about 40 of them tonight were really polite. I'd say the vast majority of them if not all of them said thank you...even the older ones. I think trick or treating is over because it's been a while since my last "customer" and just in the nick of time, we only have 5 or 6 peanut butter cups left

19. We never get children. .
I think it's because the commie dog loathes them . . .

Doesn't really matter. . . . Grand parents didn't get candy this year. In fact they are out celebrating "Fall festival" at the church. . .

they said they bring candy home though . . yumness.

21. The random little delinquent in training gets one piece here.
Everyone else gets two or three. That little sister would have scored a fistful after her sib's pushy move. I believe in rewarding good behavior.;-)

No excuse for the mother.

22. No fucking shit.
And I am a mom of 2. I was all like "Happy Halloween" after they took my candy, and they coudn't even say thank you. Mike and I would shut the door and call them MUTANTS. Lots of kids did say thank you, but the ones that didn't are on my list......mutantsville....get some fucking manners.

23. Yeah.
I had only 10 trick or treaters show up tonight. Half of them weren't in costume. Only 3 bothered to say thank you. 1 said trick or treat (the only one in a good, creative costume). That was worse than last year.

Every Halloween the world gets sadder and sadder.

I was thinking that this might be my last year for candy. I'm tired of running up and down my stairs to give candy to unmannerly brats who can't even be bothered to do so much as put on a pillowcase with eyeholes cut out. And yes, the lack of costume is the worst part to me. Without the costume, Halloween is just one more excuse for all the spoiled rotten kids in the world to be catered to by everyone around them.
