Its 8:24 Monday morning and I already want to SCREAM !
I turned on NPR on the way to work this morning like I always do and they were talking about, what else, Iraq.

Baker was saying that we need to talk to Iran and Syria. (GAWD, I hate it when Baker sounds like the sensible one in the story.) He said that for years we talked with the Soviet Union when they wanted to wipe us off the face of the earth.

His conclusion: You talk to your enemies, not just your friends.

He didn't say you cowtow to your enemies, accept everything they say at face value, or even accept ANYTHING they have to say as logical. But you TALK to them for God's sake! (OK, actually he didn't say that - exactly - either. I put the God metaphor in there for emphasis.)

Then they play this clip of Codi Rice at her most pedantic: "That arguement is just not facile." Then she goes on to explain that we were trying to change the behavior of the USSR, and that we also talked to their dissidents, and that we applied sanctions, and that blah , blah, blah, blah , blah, blah and furthermore, blah , blah, blah, blah , blah, blah.

First of all -well, she's an idiot, but I'll get to that later - First of all, facile? facile? She could have said that arguement doesn't work in this case because blah , blah, blah, blah , blah, blah, or it is not easily accomplished because blah , blah, blah, blah , blah, blah blah , blah, blah, blah , blah, blah. But "facile?

I think Condi is trying to brush up her resume for academic circles. Either that, or George Bush will use it 17 times in his next speech ... and explain, in short ... easily underSTOOD ... sentences what the word means. ("We won't talk to Iran. I'd hate to be sentenced to listening to Amooninjahead talk ... heh, heh)

" uh, Facile ... it means w o r K A b l e .... eesily Ah K OM p l i shed ...

Any cicumlocation or use of a plethora of obfuscations by this hoarde of idiots!!!!!!

Anyway, then she goes on to point out that there IS no point in talking to these people, because we are concerned with behavior (??????)Of course, "if we were concerned with compensation, one would have to ask, 'what compensation'."

Of course, we can't ask them what compensation. Why? WE ARE NOT TALKING TO THEM ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I'm almost finished here. Just one more point:

FACILE ? ? ? ?
