Our beloved 2 yr old cat Spark was killed by a car earlier this evening. We're all completely devastated, especially Shine Girl, whose cat she was. It was her first real pet of her own.

Spark was the most loving cat we've ever known and she will be deeply missed, most especially by her litter-mate sister, Flame, who was her basket cuddle-mate, partner in crime and true friend. :cry:

Rest in Peace, Spark. O8) We will never forget you.

We lost one of our cats suddenly last year. I know what it's like and it's even harder because alot of people don't understand what a loss it really is. Cats are family members. Hang in there.

Basically, this whole experience has totally sucked. There's nothing worse than seeing your 10 yr old kid sobbing over the unexpected loss of her first special pet. Shine Girl was utterly in love with Spark and vice versa.

It's a hard lesson of the fragility of Life and a reminder of how precious it is.

It's gonna take some time to get over this one. Mr. Shine dug the hole this morning and we'll be burying her after the kids get back from school. Sigh....:cry:
