6. While looking for new house. . .
The couple's young daughter (around four years old), was showing us her room and she made sure to show us where that attic door was.

She told us not to go up there because that was where the monsters were.

We had a nice laugh abou that.

34. The attic...definitely the attic. To make matters worse,
in my childhood home the attic had a louvered window near the peak of the roof. When the wind blew hard it would make a tortured moaning sound. I remember burying my head under the blankets with my hands over my ears so I wouldn't hear it.

we had a brand new home so it was settling a lot and the attic above my room made creaking and tapping noises. add to that my overactive imagination and monster movie addiction, made many sleepless nights for me.

40. Outside the car when traveling
He'd run right beside the car. He was quite fast, and very agile. Just a small monster. Thinking back on it, it was a cross between the thing on the wing in the Twilight Zone movie/episode, and the Chupacabra. I didn't even know they existed when I was 6 or 7, so that's weird.

43. Mine was the dot on the TV screen (black and white) that remained long
after the TV was turned off. I had watched an episode of The Twilight Zone just before going to bed one night, and that show always scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. Mom and Dad had moved the old black & white TV into the room I shared with my sister, and we were lucky as hell to have a TV in our room....until the dot made its presence known. :yoiks: :scared: I was six or seven, and I was convinced the evil people from The Twilight Zone would use it to zap into our room and get us. I could not look at the TV when the dot was there without freaking out...and this went on for a long time. Fortunately, I got over it, and no TV dots bother me any more.

When I was little little the first one lived under the bed. And I had to sleep exactly in the middle because that was the only place it's legs couldn't get me. It had legs like a spider. *shudder*

When I was a little older the monster circled the whole world every year but you never knew which night it would be in your town. You had to have the blinds completely closed at night so it couldn't see in and see you. If it did...it would GET you. *snort*

I could go in the basement as long as I was 12 feet or so away from the furnace. The bottom of the stairs was within the monster's armlength, so I had to quickly move past the last couple of steps.
