Video...K. D. Lang singing Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelulljah'
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 10:16 PM by RedEarth
If you're a fan of Cohen and Lang, this is a terrific video....live at the Sydney Opera House

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlXV19TykLY

here is Leonard Cohen singing it.... he doesn't have a great voice, but he's a darn good song writer...Suzanne, sung by Judy Collins is also one of his songs.

3. That was beautiful! I'm glad I wandered over here to the Lounge! Is there
a way I can save this to replay or download or what? I'm not very technologically advanced as you can tell!

5. Actually, I would like to know also....... the only way that I'm aware of
is to save that page in your favorites. I made a favorites Music Video folder and bookmarked it there. I'd really like to be able to save it to my hard drive, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

4. Finally someone does this song as well or better
than Jeff Buckley. If you watch her face she never seems to be performing for the audience. It's almost like she's alone and speaking in song.

21. it is missing
It's because there are really 7 verses, whoever performs it usually sings 3 or 4.

12. Thanks. Bookmarked so I can make sure u4ic sees it.
She adores kd, and especially when she does that song.

There's another video, of kd performing it in Edmonton in 2005. If anyone's interested, I'll dig it up :hi:

14. Love Lang, hate Cohen.
Cohen is an egomaniac who writes incomprehensible lyrics for the gullible romantics.

Lang is the one with the talent.

15. Wow. That was better done than the version on her CD
"Hymns of the 49th Parallel" which is one I play over and over and over and over and over again. K.D. Lang is beautiful, and has a beautiful voice.

I haven't got around to listening to all of them yet. I found this link a few weeks ago while searching for L.C. lyrics and saved it for future reference.

35. Jeff Buckley's version is used in Shrek.
The best version I've ever heard. In fact, every song on his album "Grace" is rock solid. One of the best albums of the 90s.

KD, Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright. All three versions are just beautiful, too.
