I used all but $22 of it to pay off some bills. I'm really close to being debt-free except for my car, and it feels so good.

I moved from DC to NY this year, and the DC public school system refuses to change my address because I'm not ther eot do so--when I asked what to do about taxes my response, seriously, was, "Well, if you moved this year the post office should forward it to your new house."

And people wonder why DC hemmorhages teachers...

direct-deposited into my checking account.

I've been doing this for several years and that's a typical turn around for this - seems to be right around 14 days for the cash to arrive.

8. This the 7th or 8th time doing it this way for me
I just don't remember how long it takes to get the money into my account. I know it was pretty quick, but I thought it was quicker than two weeks.

11. If I remember right, I've gotten it as early as nine days and as late as 17 days,
but mostly it seems to fall right in that two week thing. Maybe it all depends on the day of the week it's filed or something?

7. Same boat here,
I have a large refund but most of it is going to the credit union for savings.

I will keep a $500 for a convention I will be going to.

The rest is being saved for a down payment on a new truck.

9. Live sensibly
Get rid of that debt, and don't be tempted to get back into it. I have seen commercials for dept consolidation companies who show a family -- finally free of debt -- getting a new swimming pool!!!1!

The message? Get rid of your debt, so you can accumulate new debt!

Buy what you can afford. Luxuries are nice, but not necessary. In general, I don't buy anything unless I can afford it four or five times over... which usually means I can pay cash. When I decided to get a boat, I bought an older one for $3000. A new one would be ten times that much. You can live very well without debt if you stay smart about it.

12. taxes
I am glad someone is getting $$ back
I am making less and I have to pay more taxes
During the Clinton years, I was making more and paying less taxes

So the Republican lie "Democrats raise taxes" is ignorant
