1. My dear pokerfan!
I am definitely going to see it!

But, not until it comes out on DVD..........

All the reviews I've seen have loved it!

I would not hesitate, if I were you........

3. Phenomenal movie
Absolutely emotionally exhausting--you just feel worn out at the end. It is a great companion piece to "Flags of our Fathers". If you have the opportunity I recommend you go see it.

4. Already seen Flags
My uncle fought in the Pacific in WWII.

I have a feeling that both of these films will soon be joining Band of Brothers on my DVD shelf.

7. I imagine that they will be released as a box set.
Isn't Eastwood a republican? Just not a freeper?

8. Eastwood is a Republican.........
I have never heard that he is a freeper......

And I do believe that he made these movies to bookend each other...

The same battle from opposing viewpoints.......

14. More like a small "l" libertarian.
Eastwood declined an offer from President George Bush to campaign for him in the 1992 Presidential election. He told an interviewer the next year, "I think what the ultra-right wing conservatives did to the Republicans is really self- destructive, absolutely stupid."

(snip)

At a press conference for his movie Mystic River (2003), Eastwood condemned the Iraq war as a "big mistake" and defended Sean Penn's visit to Baghdad, saying he might have done the same thing but for his age.

5. we've seen the tech/cine 'the making of' layout & CGI stuff...

15. I saw it today and I'll recommend it
I don't think I'll spoil the movie for anyone by saying that it is a war movie and as such has plenty of graphic violence... but well worth seeing for presenting one of history's most famous battles from the perspective of the doomed Japanese defenders of Iwo Jima.

17. How do you spoil a battle that happened 62 years ago?

Pretty amazing that it lasted over a month with 5-1 odds in favor of the Allied forces.
