I had to wait 6 weeks for today's appointment, and I will have to wait another week and a half to find out what the results were.

5. Nine months wait

for a pediatric allergist appointment.

The kid has nasty allergies and has been referred. The only one around has said a nine month's wait.

Mine was a 6 week wait, just for a cardiology procedure, not even to see a cardiologist. I cannot imagine how long it is going to be when they finally decide I do need to see the cardiologist.

And I was fixing to ask my PCP for a referral to a rheumatologist...maybe not.

My best friend's youngest child was referred d/t his severe asthma. She had to call the insurance company to find out who the nearest one was to take her son. They denied her outright over the phone.

3. I was shopping earlier today

and overheard two people talking.

One had mentioned that she had been sick a couple of weeks ago, went to the doctor and it ended up costing her $27!!

Yes, $27! For antibiotics - and she was making a stink about it. I just rolled my eyes and thought, if you were in the US...
