I'm snowed in today!

:hi: I got up for work as usual this morning, and I paid close attention to closings and cancellations before I headed out...but no announcement about the college where I work. I got halfway to work on the slick streets when I heard our college was closed today. I promptly headed back home. :)

We've got somewhere around 2 inches of snow and expecting sleet and ice this afternoon. I know that's NOTHING to the northern DUers, but around here, it's a big deal. If DU would stop acting up, I'd be able to post more! :P

5. I'm a Northerner, but I lived in NC for 4 years

It was amazing to watch everything shut down with just a little snow, but I quickly learned that without sand, salt, and snow plows (like we have here) the roads turn into ice rinks. The southern drivers that I encountered, drove way to fast for the conditions -- this was another observance that I made.

Enjoy your snow day, and stay safe!!!! We had one a couple weeks ago. This weekend is going to be sub-zero lows and single digit highs here. I hate the bitter cold. I will stay in all weekend.
