So, I watched a little bit of Sarah Silverman's show tonight...
I don't know, it seemed to me like she will just says anything in hopes that something will provoke a laugh...

I knew guys like that in College, being weird just to get noticed, being eccentric to entice attention...

The only thing I see different from those boys I knew with arrested development and SS is she is a she....

Well, and she IS rather self absorbed...

1. I watched about 5 minutes worth.
It was just as horrid as the commercials had led me to expect.
I doubt I'll be watching it again.

20. Yes, "let's just say" that. It's a very polite way to phrase it! nm

Thanks for running interference!

Another difference: She IS making a lot of money, I suspect!

4. I hate Sarah Silverman.
Honestly, I don't know why people like her. I've watched her stand-up before. I tried to like her. I just can't. Give me Janeane Garafalo.

I had her show on as background noise tonight and she was annoying me then. I had to change the channel.

7. She's just utterly low-class.
She's also a fan of incest jokes and they're just lame and disgusting. I have a pretty fucked up sense of humor, but she's just fucked up.

10. Low-brow comedy can only go so far before it loses its 'comedy' value.
If anybody can find anything that makes lots of feces jokes tame, I don't want to know about it.

Comedy Central just wants 'in' for "how low can you go". Just another part of 'the race to the bottom', they don't want anybody funny... just be gross or disgusting enough, that's good enough for them.

22. Thank god. I thought I was the only one.
Like fingernails on a fucking blackboard. I also don't get the "she's so hot" thing I hear so many guys breathlessly spout. She's average, at best. Maybe she just looks like the kind of woman who won't turn you down outright; I dunno.

I have really, really tried to like her. I even get where she is going and what she is doing, but I just can't enjoy it. I put forth a noble effort, though. I don't know... I guess I don't find it all that radical that a woman will say fuck and talk about shit and blowjobs, and I kind of resent her for thinking that is all it takes to get a giggle out of me. :)

(edited for spelling)

I really did! I like thoughtful humor, and she's not that at all. I appreciate heady comedy not poopy comedy.

12. OK, so its not just me.
My wife and I watched 5 minutes of it. That was all we could take. I was thinking maybe its for a younger audience but my daughter and her boyfriend didn't care for it either.

Critics absolutely GUSH over her and I just DON'T get why.

The whole "shock and disgust" factor doesn't really matter to me . . . the problem with her is that she just isn't that funny.

It's the same with her stand-up. I'm watching this and thinking "Am . . . am I missing something? I mean, this isn't even Andy Kaufmann-funny. This is like SPIN-magazine scenester bullshit."

Y'know, people who think that humiliating other people is funny.

15. It got terrible reviews. I didn't see it, I don't like her stand-up.
When I've seen her just talking with people she is funnier, but when she's doing her schtick she's not. It's like she goes out of her way to avoid doing jokes a girl is "supposed" to tell, but compensates by telling jokes a 12-yr-old boy with some psychological issues would tell with his friends to gross them out. I certainly appreciate crude, non-girly girls. I'm one myself. I swear like a sailor and have a pretty twisted sense of humor myself. But somethings aren't funny, they're just gross.

23. There is more comedy in the Magic Bullet Infomercial than her show
I found it just wrong...and I like a lot of odd ball comedy and what she does is just unexplainable...

24. I watched a little...well,
I had it as back ground noise...and barely remember anything she did/said. I have never heard her stand up, or comedy before...and the show couldn't get me away from my monitor last night...

My only experience with her is her small roles in movies...

30. I view her the way I view Robin Williams, I prefer them in serious
roles and not trying to make me laugh. Silverman was quite good on the the Larry sanders show and I liked her on School of Rock. I find her stand up nothing but occasionally amusing. The same with Williams. I'll take Dead Poets Society Good Will Hunting to any of his over-the-top unfunny bits.
