Woman Who Stole From Sheboygan Courthouse Tampon Machines Caught

It turns out Sheboygan’s tampon machine tamperer just wanted a ride home.

A 20-year-old Waldo woman who stole $4 in change from two tampon machines in women’s restrooms at the Sheboygan County Courthouse and the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department was cited Wednesday for petty theft, said Capt. Dave Adams of the sheriff’s department.

Jamie M. Peterson, of N3455 Highway 57, admitted to taking the money while searching for change to make a phone call from the sheriff’s department lobby, Adams said, adding that Peterson was trying to find a ride home.

Adams said no tampons were taken and the machines were not damaged.

She faces a fine of $375 and is scheduled to appear in court March 7.
