He taught me most of what I know about the CAD application (SolidWorks), often putting his deadlines in jeopardy to help me out. This guy is a prince. A genuine "good person". He's been with the company for 15 years and has a young family and a San Diego-sized mortgage. I feel terrible and told him that before he cleaned his desk out. I told him that I hope he doesnt think that I backstabbed him? I really didnt.
After he left I confronted my boss and told him that if its a case of keeping someone and canning someone, can me. Jose has a family/mortgage and I'm a 51 year old beach-bum who has an inheritance to fall back on, if need be. My boss told me that its something deeper and no more comments.
Man, I feel bad!
