BSG Has jumped the shark for me this season.
THe writing seems to have gone downhill. I haven't loved the storylines and the acting and/or the dialogue, lately, has seemed kind of tacky and over the top.

1. Hmmm.
I think it's been just as good as usual.

What specifically haven't you liked about the storyline?

2. The Starbuck apollo thing seems pretty weak to me for one thing
Very "Melrose Place" IMO.

3. That's the one aspect I haven't particularly cared for
But there has been SO much else to love.

The starvation episode where they have to send the pilots on (essentially) suicide runs to save the fleet was worth an entire season's worth of Starbuck/Apollo melodrama.

Some great stuff happening with Baltar as well.

But yeah, I'll agree with you on the love quadrangle. It blows, but I don't think it rises to shark jumping level.

4. I haven't been able to stand watching it
After they evacuated New Caprica, it pretty much went downhill. Telling a story that complicated in a stubbornly non-linear fashion got on my nerves. If I wanted flashbacks, I would have dropped acid in college. :eyes:

5. It has gotten a little odd
Starbuck has become a most unattractive character.
Apollo is something of a dirt bag too. I hate to be drawn into the soap aspect, but I'd like to see Duella smack him with a 2 x 4.
I think the Cylons are certifiable, though I like their ships interior style.
IMO, Tigh needs a proper black eye patch.
And Colonial science seems a little weak. Wouldn't a people with atomic weapons have a way to darken their helmet visors?
All that said, it is important to remember that the great sci fi series of the past were not all gold.
Original Star Trek, Babylon 5, Blakes 7, and all the rest have at least a few stinkers among them.
Overall it's so far so good.
In spite of some episode badness I'm still a viewer.
BSG is a big chunk of the little TV that I still watch.

6. I thought it was a bit unrealistic
that Dualla took Apollo back...

I actually didn't like the miniseries and most of the first season, but I thought it had some good storylines... so, I stuck with it and was rewarded with the great 1st season cliffhanger and a terrific season 2, 2.5 and 3.

7. I have to agree.
Starbuck has lost her charm and humor.
The Apollo/Starbuck theme is really lame.
The plot has gotten so convoluted that I keep expecting the "cancer man" from the X-Files
to show up and start spouting off cryptic bullshit.

I haven't given up yet, though. Partly because there's NO WAY IN HELL my husband will stop watching it - so
I'm along for the ride! ;)

8. They definitely need to move on from the whole Starbuck/Apollo love thing
It seemed like they had done that towards the end of Season 2.5, which I was happy about. I was a bit disappointed when it reared its head again in Season 3. It needs to be done with, already! I don't want to watch the two of them mooning over each other for another 2 seasons.

Otherwise, I've enjoyed Season 3.
