Why Dogs Rule!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16952774/

THOMASVILLE, Ga. - A south Georgia woman bloodied in a car wreck says she owes her life to a German shepherd who — thankfully — just wouldn’t stay in his yard.

Shannon Lorio says that after her car careened down an embankment, the wayward dog found her bruised and battered on the vehicle’s trunk, pulled her by her shirt collar, dragged her about 50 yards through briars to a highway and let her lean against him so she could flag a passing motorist.

His new name: Hero.

2. Always warms my heart hearing feelgood stories about pound pups...
Like using pound puppies to rehabilitate prison inmates and train them (and the dog) to learn how to train dogs professionally. Great program and one that should be expanded.

6. My dog Emma
Practically saves my life on a daily basis. There isn't anything better in the world to soothe a broken soul like the unconditional love of a pet.

Sweet story. Animals never cease to amaze me.

7. My 90 Pound Hound pulled me up the 5 stairs into the house when my back went out
Getting in would have been impossible at the time. He knows when the back is giving me fits and is a self-made Handi-Dog those days. When I am OK, he grabs things he knows are not OK for toys, shows me and makes me chase him a bit. He knows momma needs some exercise.

But when momma is down, he is a champ.

Saves mice from the cat too. ;)

9. Yay Hero!!!
Not all dogs are quite that smart, but they ARE all worth is. This was the biggest giggle I had during the 2005 Yukon Quest - quite a tangle after getting confused with all the spectators urging them on.......

I called it Dog Jam.......
