I'm being thrown out of bed

by my two dogs. Don't laugh, it's not funny anymore. I have two Lab mixes...one is 3 and the other is 6 months old. They both sleep on my bed at night. Recently both have begun to sleep ON ME. By early morning I am teetering on the edge of the bed. I don't know if this is a Lab trait or just dog competition/jealousy. They refuse to move. Any ideas? Please don't tell me to banish them to the floor! :-)

Welcome to my world. Although my dogs are smaller, they seem to be able to stretch out and take up the entire bed, often relegating me to my office couch.

*sigh* small price to pay for happy critters, I guess.

5. I understand...

I have two Min Pins and one cat and it's a war in our bed. Just be more aggressive than they are...when they push, you push back. They'll get the idea.

6. OMG, this happened to me more times than I can count...

...:yoiks: My husband and I sleep in a queen-sized bed, and our 80-lb. Lab mix and our 50-lb. terrier/pointer mix attempted to sleep in bed with us. I would always end up getting pushed off the bed or crunched into a tiny space on the bed, and I could not STAND it. My husband made a wooden platform with rails to place at the end of the bed, and he calls it "The Dog Box." We piled dog bedding in it, and it's basically an extension of our bed. Both dogs sleep there, and on the rare occasion it gets really cold in the house, they may end up closer to us. However, it was the best solution for us besides me sleeping in the guest room all the time. :)

The Dog Box is the same height as the box springs, and with the dog bedding in it, the sleeping area is the same height as our bed. We have the rails on three sides to keep the bedding from falling out on to the floor and to give the hounds some support. One of our dogs loves sleeping up against the rails. :D

Hey Raven. Long time. :)

I have a teeny tiny cat and she managed to find a way on a Queen sized bed to fall asleep on top of me every night, too.

I'd tell you to buy yourself another bed...but they'd just follow you. :)
