BLIZZARD!!! (Pics and Dial-Up Warning)
There is a bad blizzard in the area that I live in. So what do I do? I go out driving as I had to do some errands. Then I went to KFC to get me and my mom some food (she was hungry) Then I went straight home.

But here are some pics:

I know it may not look as bad in the photos but it is pretty bad.

1. Cold there too?
Below zero here in Sheboygan, WI already. :scared:

But I always hated driving in snow like that.

3. Yes, they are saying that this is the worst snowstorm
they have since 1977 or something like that. My mom says this is the first bad snowstorm I have ever been in my life.

Geez that has to tell you something about our planet's climate.

4. If you were out in the country I'm sure it would really look like a blizzard.
Looks about like what we have here with frigid temps too.

7. I once interviewed in Grand Rapids. Strangest church I've ever seen.
They didn't hire me. Thank God. Seemed like a good city, though.

11. I can't remember exactly the name. I'll look it up
I think it's South Congregational UCC, but this was years ago. I'll check.

12. I've looked at UCC churches in Grand Rapids, and I think it was
East Congregational, but if so, it's changed since I visited there. It was an odd place. It had a large staff--3 pastors, I would have been the 4th. And I would have been the only of the 4 who had not been raised Dutch Reformed and became UCC later. But I was most taken aback when I worshipped with them, and during the opening hymn, an acolyte marched in with a big US flag. I knew then that it was a bad match. I'm not sure when they knew, but it was okay to get that rejection letter.

Now it looks like it's open and affirming, which it wouldn't have been then. Nice to see growth like that!

Get both hands on the wheel! We don't want to lose you!

21. Snow didn't get to SE Mich
It must have been "Lake Effect" snow, not the "big weather system" snow.

I hope everyone in the area is safe and staying warm.

13. Seriously, the pic's don't do the day justice. I live 35 min. from GR
and it was worse yet. Highways closed several times over with 30-60 car wrecks. Tow truck drivers very happy today.

17. Oh yes, the NB US 131 crashes today
and I forget where else. Even a cop cruiser got rearended pretty bad. Luckily though there were few injuries and I think they said no one died.

15. the photos make me miss Chicago
Then I remembered how cold that is and what it's like to drive in. The summer heat in Phoenix sucks but I don't have to shovel it.

Drive carefully!

19. That's a great photograph
I know it has been anything but a peaceful day for all of you...but there's something very serene about that scene, with the street lights back lighting the subject.
