Holy crap I just registered for a marathon!
This has been a goal of mine for a long long time. I have been running recreationally for quite a long time.

40th birthday is in March. Marathon is in November.

The Richmond Marathon 11/10/07 mostly a flat course (they reversed "Lee's revenge" years ago)

I am spending the rest of the weekend getting my head around running 26.2 miles at one time and what it will take to do that. What I will look like by the time I get there and what my wife agreed to get on board with. I am signing up for their 25 week training program that starts on May 20th.

Lots of pain to follow. Oh hell tons of people have done this before there is no reason I can't.

Here goes nothing.

1. Hey, have fun with that.
Seriously. I can't run, though people tell me I should--I had a 7:30 mile last year with minimal training. (:eyes:) I admire people who do, though, since it seems pretty interesting, and certainly rewarding.

2. Holy crap!
Good luck with your training.

As for me, I'd stop off at Hardee's for a burger and fries and go "Rosie Ruiz" only I wouldn't win. :D

3. Here's the deal
I have been getting up at 5 AM for weeks to get ready. I am actually surprised that the training doesn't start before that.

I will post a pic of me at the finish line.

4. Excellent!
I really hope you do well!

There's a 5am? Huh! How about that.

I get up at 6 to hit the gym (for a whole 30 minutes).
