2. 22 July 2006

That was an anomaly, though. Normally, it peaks at about 102.

4. Austin, Texas
About five years ago we had our record high. 112 degree F.

I LOVED it. I hate cold. I don't want to live anywhere that if you accidentally fall asleep under a tree, you might wake up dead.

7. Ft Worth: we had 42 consecutive days of 100 this summer and
only a few days of under 100. It was a long hot summer with essentially no rain.

13. It varies from summer to summer, but mostly 80s and 90s
with the occasional 100-102 or so. When it's that hot, it's pretty humid, too. My comfort range is 60s to maybe 80 or so. I hate it when we have prolonged stretches in the upper 80s and 90s. The humidity makes me really miserable.

22. Funny thing is...
I grew up in Michigan near Lake St. Clair, and I don't ever remember it getting up to 100 degrees. And I get the impression that summers were never as hot here 30 years ago as they are now.

14. 90's mostly and almost no humidity
So it's nice. There's almost always a bit of a breeze off the ocean even here on the other side of the Santa Cruz mountains.

Gets into the hundreds sometimes but not often. I love the weather here. Sure beats shoveling snow and sweating in the humidity.

15. 30 degrees is plenty warm for us
That's Celsius, of course. It's 86 to you poor F. suckers. We seldom even reach the mid-90s even, and it's dry to boot, so it's seldom uncomfortable.

29. I was there for one of those
We had just come up and it was indeed 35. That felt pretty hot. I think it's generally warmer in Edmonton in the summertime; Calgary is higher up and it definitely is cooler here at night. That's why Edmonton gardens are so much nicer than ours. We were up to Slave Lake and Cold lake last summer, beautiful country, but I was surprised as hell to see fields of corn 100 km north of Edmonton, CORN!!!11 Have you ever been up that way? There is a fire lookout north of Slave Lake that has one of the most spectacular views I've ever seen, bar none, and I'm including views in the mountains.

34. Hi huskerlaw!!! That's why I don't live in the valley.. Well one of the reasons.
I try not to live more than 3 miles from the ocean. Then all I have to worry about is crossing the burning beach sands (30 to 40 yards at most) to get to the water..
Ahhh.. Southern California :hippie:

20. Around here the common temps are in the upper 80's-mid 90's
but the humidity is the killer around here, it's not uncommon for the heat index to reach above 100. Unfortunately that doesn't make me feel any better on a night where the wind chill is going down to -10.

21. It's midnight here in TX where I am, and it's been cold for 3+ weeks.
My 'cold' is nothing to others' cold, but it is still cold.
Hang in there, everyone. Spring is on the way, we can hope!

23. It's typically in the low 80's during the hottest months...
but with our freaky weather changes, it can get up into the 90's. (That's when it's time for me to hide in the basement.)

About 80 degrees is my upper limit for comfort.

24. Searing....114°F not uncommon in the shade, and add at least 6-10°F for in the sun
I just about died in those temperatures, dressed like Elvis, when I worked outside a casino on days in the summer of 2005.

25. Used to be 90's and up, july to september.
Humid as hell. The Great Lakes basically run right under Michigan which makes it a big swamp in the summer. Last couple of summers it hasn't gotten to the 90's more than a couple of days. In the 1980's it was regularly about 101 in august.
