Waking up
to the "beautiful" sound of drilling and other loud working isn't really the best thing to get a good start into the day.

OK, why do workers have to start this shit (yes I say that word!!!) at 7.30 in the morning???????

then there's a loud-whispered gasp, followed by rhythmic Rrrrrmmmmmm, Rrrrrrmmmm and a few curse words here and there.

6. I'm sorry MissHoneychurch. That is the shits....
...I can sympathize: Mrs. Robeson and I - as you may remember - are both night people. We've been getting our bathroom redone upstairs because our shower was leaking all over the place. The crew shows up every morning around 7:00 AM. They're banging, beating, and raising hell from the time they come in the house, after we both have had about 2 hours of sleep. This has been a 2 week ordeal in which we both are ready for it to end...:hangover:

17. It is torture, especially since they finished last week, and we waited...
...for the shower to dry like they told us to. This past weekend, we took a shower, and all the tile started to come back up, along with all the grout. So they are back again this week, and we're going through this all over again....:banghead:

And about why they start so early.. Doing construction sucks when it is dark out. Sometimes you have to do 10 to 12 hour days to get things done on time.

22. Sunday evening I went home from my mom with the train
the first train, which is like a subway was full with carneval groups :scared: making A LOT of noise, singing strange songs. And soooo loud that I couldn't listen to my music I had on (which was The Wall by Pink Floyd). Sometimes headphones don't oversound the other sounds you don't wanna listen to.

Except mine was a boy named Chuckanut...Chuckies for short. He used to sleep with me too. I confess I miss him even though it has been about 4 years now...he lived to be about 15. You are lucky to have a cat on duty to keep you safe while you sleep. I have a dog nowadays who is happy to share her food with the random mouse who sneaks in...Chuckanut would never have stood for such nonsense!

Thanks. I'll certainly tell you when we get our move-in date. :pals:

39. Morning MissH!
Sorry to hear about your rude awakening, but construction guys are on a whole different timetable than the rest of us. I have a friend who works construction. He gets to the site while it's still dark, sleeps for a bit in his truck, and as soon as light breaks, he (and his crew) start working. Me? I'd rather stay in bed!

I suspect you've heard about our deep freeze here in the Midwest? Right now the temps -10F with a chill factor of -29. My office was so cold yesterday I couldn't event use it. I had plants on the windowsill which I'm sure froze to death. I moved them and just hope I wasn't too late.

we "only" have temps in the 40s. I really hope your plants survived.

I can understand that the constucters have to get up early to get their stuff done. But it really sounded like they worked right next to my bed. And I rather wake up to the sound of my radio than to drilling and I don't know what else. I just hope they are finishing today - whatever they are doing - and I don't have to wake up to the same sound tomorrow.
