1. Talk about depressing!
My lover. He had Aids. The medication didn't work and he took his own life. It was not assisted suicide - I did nothing. I just sat with him while he did it and held him as he died. One of the most awful experiences in my life and one I would never give up.

He didn't die alone.....

Khash.

11. I am a hospice volunteer. I have a client who is actively dying now, in fact.
She'll probably pass within the next few days. I'm sad, she's been one of my favorites. :(

On the other hand, dying is the most natural thing in the world.

21. Co-worker/friend & her husband and son
Died Christmas Day 2006 in an auto wreck that could have been prevented, had the NCDOT gotten off their asses soon enough and replaced a section of median divider on an interstate highway that is notorious for auto accidents. She and her son both died shortly after being transported to the hospital. Her husband was taken off life support a week later and subsequently died.

I wasn't great friends with her, but we'd chew the fat every now and then at work, usually some minor bitching about our jobs or discussing our respective family lives. I had just hung out with my friend and her hubby the week before at a company Xmas party, chatting with them. I think the very last time I saw her alive was just before leaving the office for a week's vacation right at Xmas. I was in Atlanta several days later visiting the in-laws when I received word of her death.

The first few days back at work were pretty rough. I'd keep thinking I heard her talking at her desk nearby, until the obvious occurred to me. Didn't realize how much I'd miss her till she was gone.

44. its been a while....took me a few minutes to think on this...
But, her name was Crystal...I had her in a few classes during HS, and we became friends. I had her in my indian art class, and she was pretty damn creative, and one beautiful young lady. She killed herself in 93, shotgun to the guts...underneath a bridge, near the bypass in my hometown. It was shocking...she seemed to have a lot going for her. My best friends father, did the funeral, and the whole situation...was very, saddening....

I don't believe, anyone else I knew, or in my circle of friends has died since then....

He was 89, but he died right before his 90th birthday, somewhat unexpectedly. I guess nothing can be completely unexpected at that age. I wish he would have seen the Democrats take Congress.
