Nashville, TN, area DUers: Things to do?
I'm going to be in Nashville for a professional conference from Saturday through Wednesday (Feb. 10-14). I'll have some free time Sunday afternoon and evening and was just wondering what you might recommend. The conference is downtown, and I won't have a car.

Thanks! :D

9. The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is excellent...
...open 7 days a week. Here's a link to their site, with current showings...

Also, try to go to the Parthenon if you get a chance. Beautiful full-scale replica of the original Parthenon, and it has a giant statue of Athena inside.

If you are wanting a drink or see some night-life, I'd recommend taking a short cab ride to East Nashville, it's where all the Liberals and bohemian types live and party in Nashville. Just tell the cab driver you'd like to go to the 5-Points area in East Nashville. It's all local, and no tourist.

12. tour the Parthenon in daytime, nice art gallery in the basement
however, do drive by it at night as it is beautifully lit.

eat some good pork barbeque!
and hunt down some hot fried chicken. There is a place in Nashville which sells fried chicken in 5 categories, from mild to incidiary.

Can't remember the name of it but it was featured on Food Channel.
