UUUGGGGG! I have to pay $425 for another person's car that I hit!
I am so disgusted right now. I guess I should be happy that that no one was hurt but all I did was scratch this guy's truck with my rear view mirror and the cheapest I can get away with is $425.

Trying to get somewhere 5 minutes faster in bad traffic and it costs me $425.

Oh well. I guess there are worse things that can happen. But right now this one feels pretty damn bad. And I am most pissed off at myself.

9. Yeah.
I order them from work so I pay for them with pretaxed dollars. They come once a month in an envelope, and this month they slipped out of the envelope and got mixed up on my desk with my old, used cards. I took the cards to the subway to check if anything was left on them, and when several of them said - Express Bus pass - 0 remaining, I thought they were expired cards and threw them away. Turns out they said zero because they hadn't been activated yet.

When I went to get my metrocard for the week and saw that my envelope was empty - I was severely bummed.

And I thought I was being so tidy by finally throwing the old cards away.

8. OUCH!
I once threw away ONE metro card with much much less value and I wanted to die for the rest of the day...

And I only occasionally visit NYC lol, I don't even live there...

2. I feel for you
I had to shell out almost $500 to fix my car when I hit my porch trying to avoid icy branches hanging over the driveway. My own stupid fault but that doesn't lessen the sting.

3. When mine got hit
on election day 2004, as I was turning into my polling site, I had to pay for it myself. :grr:

I still voted, though. Oh, HELL, yeah.

5. Why did you have to pay for it? Did the other person run off?

7. Nope
He convinced his insurance company that I was at fault. Said I was driving on the shoulder (I wasn't), then made a left turn in front of him without signaling (I didn't).

I argued that even if that were true, it was still illegal for him to pass me on a two-lane road with a double-yellow line. They didn't see it that way.

6. don't feel too bad.
my husband and i were on vacation, i hate when he drives my car btw, i'm almost always assuming the crash position, anyhow we were right near Pepperdine university and he's not watching the road and a light was coming up, i see it's turning yellow, the car is not slowing down, i say "Michael----Michael---Michael RED LIGHT- RED LIGHT!"" well Mikey finally looks and bam, front end totally smashed up, drivable but ruined, oh lordy i was pissed but i just shut it, te guy he hit had no damage and he took off. Vacation ends and i take my car to the body shop, the bill was $3200. We payed it out of pocket, about a year later we were coming hom again from vacation and he hit another car, same story but less damage, only $1100 this time. He is no longer allowed to drove any vehicle other than his own car.

10. I NUDGED the back bumper of a Ford Explorer with my little Honda
about a year ago, and ended up doing over $500 in damage to it! Oh BTW, not a scratch on the front bumper of my Accord! Just paid out of pocket so my insurance co. wouldn't have an excuse to raise my premium...
