Attention procrastinators: Valentines Day is a week away.
If you haven't picked out something nice, now's probably a good time. Unless you really like sleeping on the couch, then I guess you can grab a Whitman's Sampler at Walgreens or some offramp bouquet on the way home from work.

Is far AHEAD of the curve this year. Wonders sometimes never cease. ;)

3. Well, I have to factor in 3K miles of shipping time, so it's a habit.
Still, a little reminder never hurt anybody.

7. I had to factor in 2k miles -
But he got it in 2 days! It apparently shipped from Dallas and only had to go to Austin. So much for timing it perfectly - he got it very early!

10. Early beats the alternative
flvegan never opens things early though, even when I tell him to. Unless it's food, the dogs won't let that wait. :D

12. LOL
Well - in this case, from reading the amazon.com reviews I was able to ascertain that the shipping box said KITCHEN AID and REFURBISHED all over it, so I figured there was no point in making him wait. I would have preferred that however.

That's okay - since he will be arriving here late on the day after Valentine's Day I will make sure to have a little something special for him then. I also decided not to mail his card, opting instead to wait until his arrival. We actually talked about having the mixer shipped here --- without him knowing it was a mixer of course :) I decided to send it directly to him because I got free shipping, and it would have been very heavy and relatively expensive to ship from here back to Austin, and it wouldn't probably have worked very well as a carry on during his return trip .

13. Blame the Food Channel
I somehow find that my kitchen is filling up with things I saw there.

Best one, IMHO, is the fish turner, a slightly curved slotted spatula. I made sure all the ladies in the family got one for Christmas.

5. I sharpened my wife's hedgetrimmers,
tuned up her weedeater, and emptied her vacuum cleaner. What more can I do to ensure she remains happily married for yet another year?

wait, what's this "Valentine's Day" you speak of? I, a poor lonely girl, do not know of this holiday. But I suppose I'll get around to getting something for the family...maybe in like March. ;)
