So the brownie recipe called for cocoa, sugar, egg, butter, and flour...
Rachel Ray would be jogging for WEEKS with that recipe...

So I used Splenda, egg substitute to nix the cholesterol, extra water and egg substitute to replace the butter, and Jiffy brand pizza dough mix (99% the same thing, whee...)

How's the finished result gonna taste? I'll let you know in 16 minutes, 12 seconds...

All I know is, the batter's dead tasty. :9

3. Well, it's still not fully cooked...
Perfect on the outside, but gooey in the middle...

Better let it cook some more...

4. It's done and here's a pic:
The recipe is on a box of Nestle cocoa (the sugarless stuff... don't try it without sugar... or splenda.)

But, DAYUM, it tastes pretty good! Like a brownie, only a tad more chewy. I dig it. I could probably work with 1 cup of splenda instead of 1 2/3 cup it asked for (splenda is sweeter than sugar and yet splenda corp. says 1 cup splenda = 1 cup sugar)

As you can see. No butter, add extra egg and water to compensate... and while jiffy pizza mix is unorthodox, it is a suitable replacement for flour. If not a bit much in the fat department, plain flour would be rather better...

5. Wouldn't the pizza dough mix have yeast in it?
That would explain the extra chewiness.

7. The yeast probably overindulged on all the sugar and died
an early death. Otherwise that brownie would have been much taller!

9. Oooh, tall brownies!!
:9

Actually, the pizza dough on its own doesn't get too tall... That's it, the next time I make pizza, tomorrow, I'm going to show it a copy of Playgirl magazine... that way, regardless of which way the dough swings, it'll rise...

10. Oh for the love of Mike.
Probably tastes like sh**. The first, best thing is good cocoa. If you're going to take all the fat out find out how to buy those little discs they make in mid-mexico. Then add applesauce and butter. If you're going to eat brownies, then eat brownies. Otherwise slice up a nice apple and dust it with cinnamon.

11. I'd rather experiment.
But I appreciate your POV...

Tastes pretty good though...

But I can say, when I dunked the batter into the glass pan, it looked like a piece of sh**... at that point I developed my reservations, but pressed on... and they're not that bad. Honest.

15. I'm a little edgy today.
Sorry if I offended. The thing is, brownies, mashed potatoes, macandcheese, they are all once in awhile foods. Never supposed to be every day foods. Put all fat in them and enjoy 4 times a year. Mac and cheese was war(II) food though. Britain and U.S. I'm too tired to do the research.
