Examples: the woman whose cell phone rang twice in the movie theater. Instead of shutting it off, she looked at her caller ID.

Second example: Person using cellphone on bus/in subway, and speaking loudly enough to be heard by everyone, including driver. Extra asshole points for using speaker phone, walkie-talkie, and/or loudly saying, "EH?" every moment or so. :mad:

30. To my thinking, 'Assholery' isn't so much a trait or quality

as it is a matter of perspective for those holding up the figurative lens.

If we disagree with a tenacious person, he's a 'mule-headed, stubborn git.' If we agree with the same person he has the 'patience of a saint.'

The same can be said of many other labels. They're two sides of the same coin and our assessment is based on which side we view. Is she arrogant, or is she self-confident? Is he blunt and cruel, or does he have an unswerving commitment to total honesty? It's all in our individual perspective and where we personally draw those lines. Few of us draw the lines in the same places for the same reasons.
