..I wanted to say good bye. Recently, for many reasons, I can't stay around here, anymore. It's not a healthy place for me, personally, to be. Some of the ugliness, shown here today, served to remind me, once again.

Don't get me wrong...I know it's not the majority. But, it's enough to drag me down.

I didn't even really care, personally that is, about Anna Nicole Smith...she was simply a celebrity to me (I didn't have a strong opinion of her, one way or the other). But, I was shocked (though, I don't know why) at many of the comments...and one thread, in particular, which lasted over two hours before it was locked.

No, I won't let the door hit me.

And, no, I certainly don't expect to be begged to stay.

I guess I just wanted to say good bye...

there were many people, here, whom I considered friends...

7. I think I know how you feel

The last four days have been the hardest I've spent at DU. I feel it physically as well as emotionally.

At least once in each of those days, I've thought, "I don't need this." But the positives, for me, outweigh the negatives — even when the negatives are this negative.

Until recently I never used it and found it annoying. I've not gotten in 'flamewars' with any of the people on mine (4 right now), but after being on the receiving end of some skeevy behavior, it makes it a lot more pleasant to come here and not see those names. None of them ever had much to say that was enlightening to me anyway. I did it at the suggestion of a friend here, just to give it a try and see if I could stand it, and I have to say, I'm a convert. I thought about it in relation to my house; I do not leave my front door open and let just anyone in. I don't pick up hitchhikers. So I can use the same disgression here about who I let into my life through this computer. And once I've been wronged by someone, would I let them back in my front door? No, I would not. I strongly recommend ignore and hide thread for that reason.
