Who uses Norton antivirus 2003 pro?

I installed that on my notebook and the DVD-rom drive just stopped working. after scratching my head for a few days, I decided to uninstall Norton and the damn thing works again. It doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe it's because I didn't pay for it. Oh well, I'll stick to my legal version of McAfee for now.

Oh and does anybody know how to trick the system clock to thinking it is the future?

If it's got the c-dilla spyware, that might konk out your DVD-ROM drive.

Did you check their website for more information?

Write to them with the problem, maybe they've got a program update.

As for tricking the clock, go to a DOS prompt, type in "Date", enter any date you like, hit enter. If you're looking for time isntead of date, at the dos prompt, type in "Time", enter any time you wish, and hit enter again.

I was using 2003 but it was a pirated version. I might just keep McAfee but install it like 3 years down the road so I can get the updates

Right-click on your system tray's clock and chose Adjust Date/Time.
