OMG!!!I found three white hairs on my head!!
So I was brushing my hair a few minutes ago and I noticed something peculiar about my hair. I moved in closer to the mirror and mussed my hair a bit and lo and behold I found three white hairs.

OMG!! I can't be getting this old fast!! Or is this normal?

1. I found my first white hairs when I was 15.

4. My maternal grandmother was totally grey in her 30s
Same for my mom's sibs. My mom's 70 and only has a handful of greys. So who the hell knows what's normal, right?

I can't believe I'm going to say this so shhh don't tell anyone, you'll really feel old when you get greys down south. Old, very old ;(

12. I have one in the back of my head
first noticed when I was 5.

I'm starting to get more throughout my hair, but I'm not too concerned. I think I'll look good with grey hair. :)

Hi, Nelly!

17. Hi There, u4ic!
So good to see you!

re: my hair...even with coloring it to cover the white streak, being in my early 50s, still don't have any other gray/white hairs on my head. Could be maybe because am a natural redhead...read somewhere that redheads tend to not go gray.

19. My sister is one
has a (naturally) beautiful colour of auburn, and she's got alot of greys now. She's in her mid 50's.

My grandmother was a natural redhead, too - a very light auburn, and she seemed to keep her colour without much grey well into her late 70's.

8. My mother was completely silver before she was 40.
I'm 40 and haven't any gray.

My dad was in his 60s before showing any white hairs.

One of my sisters got gray hairs very young, another doesn't have any.

It certainly sounds within the realm of normal. You're 27 or almost so, right?

11. You are gonna hate me
I haven't found one. But, it's probably genetic, since both my mother (60) has no grays, and her mom (83) is the same. Grandma has dark brown/black hair (never dyed), too, so they'd really show up. f course, my Dad started going salt-n-pepper at 30 and, at 59, is now all light grey and white. So I may run across some in the future.

15. hair traits seem to be maternal...
my ex is greying, but not balding... per his mom's side...

I am getting a streak of grey, per my mom's side...

seems to me that Hair genes are contributed from the maternal line.

18. I started going grey during puberty.
By the time I graduated HS I had a somewhat obvious streak in my bangs.... Irish genes I guess.

20. a friend in high school was going gray at 15
he was really self-concious about it.

At 30, his hair was bone-white, but he stil had that baby-face, so all the women loved it!
