I'm removing the paint from my build in's around my fireplace mantel. Vertical and horizon surfaces. I have a heat gun. Lot of work. I was using a paint stripper to remove the stuck on paint. Oh, I also have molding to remove paint from.

Help.

I would like to know any type of eco friendly stuff around that isn't too expensive.

thanks

1. I'd like to know as well
Maybe you should try posting this in the DIY forum.

We tried using PeelAway and it didn't work too well.

My husband wants to strip all our woodwork down to original wood-- I say it would look great but it's too much of a pain in the ass to do, it looks like crap now, all peeling, so let's just PAINT!!

2. Ask your pals, but do NOT believe what is printed on her business card
Oops, sorry. I didn't see the word "paint" in your subject.

3. I have used 3M "Safest Stripper"...
...It is a Semi-Paste Paint and varnish remover. No harmful fumes and almost no odor at all. Label claims no gloves required but I used gloves just to be on the safe side. The results were excellent(some heavy paint may need repeat applications). Don't know about eco-friendly however. Good luck!
