Iggy and the Stooges to unleash raw power at Fox

Police reunion tour also will swing through the city

Iggy and the Stooges have announced an April 13 tour date at Detroit's Fox Theatre.

The show -- what will be their first show in Detroit city limits in more than 30 years (the band played at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston in 2003) -- is part of a nine-city tour the legendary Ann Arbor rockers are mounting behind the reunion LP, "The Weirdness," which is due March 20.

The band is also playing Boston, New York, Denver, Seattle and San Francisco, as well as the Austin, Texas South by Southwest festival March 17. No word yet on ticket prices or on-sale dates for the local show.

2. based on the amusement from their concert rider
that should be one interesting show. Plus I've never seen him.

Iggy should have been on the Grammys! That would have been some serious shit and saved it from it's torpidity and turgidity!

3. Mike Watt had played some dates with them
As a diehard Minutemen fan I'd rather have seen that to be honest.

Not to say The Stooges were bad by any means :)

4. Seeing Iggy with the Stooges again....
well, it would just be a little bit of heaven for me!

Very little that Iggy did post-Stooges stands up to The Stooges' recordings.
