Ebay users, What is the craziest, most impulsive thing that you have bought?
I was a bit tipsy the other night, (ok I was goofy-drunk) listening to Jack Johnson, wishing it were Spring....and I bought a ukelele- that's right a teeny tiny guitar. It wasn't a completely insane purchase because I have played guitar and a little bass before.

Do I need to make like a celebrity or politician and run, not walk, to a rehab somewhere, or does anyone else have anything even close to another crazy purchase?

1. I bought an old Underwood typewriter that doesn't work.
I paid a dollar for the typewriter, but the shipping was expensive. I had found a desk at a garage sale like the one my parents had, and I wanted a 1920s typewriter like theirs to sit on top of it.

Not the smartest thing I've ever done.

11. You're smarter than I am. I spent about $125 for an old Carona
It's a beauty, very stylish. I got it to display like a sculpture. I love the picture of yours.

5. A saddle. From Egypt.
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 01:01 AM by Kali
Yes, really. $250 and it actually got here pretty fast. I haven't ever put it on a horse either. It's sitting in my living room collecting dust along with the black western saddle (kinda like the ones from the horsey in front of the grocery store) my friend brought from germany - they both have a lot of "silver" work on them (dingleberrys) and are pretty cool looking, but really not very useful to my life.

6. almost 600 dollers on D&D miniatures
Now I like those miniatures. they are cool and i still collect them.

But spending 600 dollers on smal plastic figurines when I i had just bought a car and moved into a new house and stil hadn't gotten al of my x-mas presents was just crazy.

But I just HAD TO HAVE THAT DRIZZT FIGURE!

I try to stay away from ebay. I get caught up in the auction frenzy and the part of my brain that handles common sense gets turned off. Even porn doesn't make me do that.

8. Either a Mercedes-Benz automobile, or an ashtray with my name on it.
The MB is an 82 diesel. I'd wanted to play around with biodiesel for a while, so I impulsively (with maybe half an hour of forethought) bought it. It was my daily car until last week, when I got a somewhat newer vehicle.

The ashtray was from a casino that closed, that happened to have my name on it.
