I'll tell you a story about him:
I went to see a midnight screening of Friday the 13th and Friday the 13th part 2 at the Uptown Theatre in Toronto (which is, like Walt "Crazy Ralph" Gorney himself, deceased) back in the early 90s.
As we all know, Crazy Ralph survives the first movie only to fall victim to the depredations of Jason early in the second. After many cries of "Doo-oo-oo-med!," he's tragically garotted by the vengeful orphan. After this had happened at the screening I was at, a lone fellow stood up and delivered a tender farewell to the old doom-cryer. "I love Crazy Ralph and will miss him like a brother," the man said in a clear voice that rang across the cinema. There were no catcalls, only a wave of respectful and appreciative applause - as though everyone in the theatre were thinking the same thing. Why, I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. We were all missing Crazy Ralph like a brother, I think.
