"Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want...
but the realization of how much you already have." ~Anonymous.

When was the last time you felt utterly contented with your life? What makes you feel content?

I feel content when I am sitting alone in the house, drinking tea with my cat on my lap, listening to music and looking out the window towards the mountains.

Ah.....life is good. :loveya:

5. Yes, it is a nice philosophy
it's good to be reminded of how much we have to be grateful for, isn't it? we take so much for granted sometimes...

3. The other day I was out at Arroyo Burro with my sketch pad
I was originally planning on drawing dogs, but before going to the beach I stopped to look at the restoration area I worked on. There was a great blue heron and a great egret in the channel, and a few coots too. I decided to sketch them. I sat down and started sketching, and while I was sitting there I became aware of two mallards, a spotted sandpiper, a snowy egret, and a black crowned night heron, all in the area I worked on. :D

6. Wow, sounds amazing.
I'm sure you must've felt content, in that moment, eh? 7 birds, all at once. I'd say that's some pretty good ju ju. The winged ones are attracted to you because you understand them.

14. No, no, it's GOOD the arundo is gone (to the far right in the photo)
We planted a bunch of willows there instead.

It's not a very good photo of the site and the restoration at all. The creek was contained in a 150 foot culvert (which is behind you in the photo) and we dug it out and planted native vegetation. So it's a real creek where before it was just a big culvert. :D

7. My dear Shine.........
Ah, that's a very good quote......

I think that one qualifies for my little blank book, where I keep such things....

Sometimes I have trouble feeling contented, since there are things I want that I will never have....

And you know what I mean......

This little phrase of yours might just help me focus on what I already have...

And how good my life really really is......

It just might, indeed........

Thank you.... :loveya:

I'm glad you liked it.

We have much to be grateful for, indeed.

I love ya, Peggy. :loveya: Isn't it nice to feel so loved? Look at all those sweet hearts....

15. I am actually quite embarrassed at all of those........
I mean, nobody has this many, I think!

But I do appreciate all the expressions of love........

And I love you, too, my dear Shine! We are kindred spirits, I think... :loveya:

I can see the twirling yellow warning lights from the truck bouncing off and around the blowing snowflakes...

I don't feel like sleeping...

18. I'm very content
so I feel that every day.

Sure there are things outside my door that I'm not content with.

I'm made my home a comfy place of refuge from the world. Only the things & people I love are allowed in. When I shut my door I'm content.

29. I am content
I have the best husband in the world, three very cute and sweet cats, an apartment full of books, two computers, one of which has decent specs for gaming although it's starting to show its age, a cable net connection, a refrigerator full of pizza, and my current job doesn't force me to talk to people and lets me make the decisions.

I have everything that I need or want.

28. Very good, Shine. Very good indeed. I have discovered that
I don't have to look very far to appreciate just how lucky I am, but for some reason I have never let myself be contented.Maybe it's just being offshore from Topsail Island catching trout with some of my best friends (daughter included), or maybe it's just being alone on the side of the mountain waiting for the sunrise at Fancy Gap VA, I have a lot to be thankfull for, but I'm not sure about being contented. I'll have to think some more about that one.

Life is very good indeed.
Thank you for sharing.:toast:
