I had ingested two hits of yellow micro dot about a half hour earlier
and decided the best way to kick it off was to smoke a bowl. At the time I had been reading Carlos Castenada's Tales of Power and I was convinced that I had found a place of power. It was a stand of ancient Pine trees, about thirty yards from my front door, I was living so far out in the country there wasn't any lights, or sounds, just deep country darkness and silence.

So, I go out and sit under the trees with my pipe, toking it up waiting for the show to begin, I was squatting with my back to a tree, when I dropped the bowl. I looked down to find it when something small and silvery strobed under my knees, I looked up and the night exploded.

In the stars were great gaseous clouds colored yellow, blue, and purple, light color dancing and flickering, changing shape and intensity. For the next twelve hours, I learned deep secrets of the cosmos.

It was great.

October something 1975. I wish it was last night, but that was about the last year for finding clean acid.

26. Sounds like it's time for a "soft" intervention....
That's when you and your friends confront the subject, confiscate half his "substances" and do them with him.

4. Paul McCartney had the secret to the universe.
First time he got stoned with some grass provided by Bob Dylan, he was convinced he'd found the Ultimate Message Of The Universe. He had one of the roadies write it down on a piece of paper for him. The next day he looked at the paper and saw what he had dictated the night before:

"There are seven levels."

11. Damn, it seems like yesterday
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 02:16 PM by fla nocount
Camping in southern Arizona jacked up on peyote at a place called Mica Mountain for the obvious reason that the exposed granite was full of mica chips. Full moon and stars above reflected into the mica below, no time, no space, completely surrounded by stars above and below. Chilly night, good friends, sipping hot chocolate laced with Creme de Menthe, coyotes howling......

Thanks for the memory, about 1975 as well, vivid memories that I'd placed behind me. About the same time I discovered that Castenada was really a primer for George Gurdjieffs "Beelzebub's Tales To His Grandson"

That was something I always wanted to do, sadly though, our paths never crossed. I've never heard of gurdjieff, makes me want to find his work now.

30. I did both .....same effect. Peyote makes you nauseous before
you get off, after that no problems. Gurdjieff, Sufi mystic, author, father of modern dance and white magician. Sworn opponent of Alister Crowley who GG considered the black magician of his age. He also thought Crowley to be stupid and bungling and never missed an opportunity to dress him out in public. Crowley got to the point where he wouldn't attend events where GG was expected and would leave if he appeared because he would come away with severe headaches that lasted for days. GG was happy to take credit for those headaches, once again, publicly. Don't know how much of that I buy, it was a mystical age.

Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson is a good read though, it's part of a trilogy and would make a good snowed-in diversion, you'll notice some novel twists on our collective myths. His writing really ramped up after a near fatal car wreck caused by him living fast and loose. It got his attention I suppose, give him a wiki, interesting fellow.

My drug use was about darkness, depression, and wanting to die...

hence, Acid did not meet the criteria...

38. wicked.....my fav time tripping was
taking a hit of blue shield and sitting under an overpass. It was really drizzly and misty that day and when a car would go by it would whip up a chaotic little trail of mist that would dance around in the air.
