Tim Hardaway really hates gays
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/16700045.htm

"You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known. I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States."

Shifty bastards, everyone of them.

Is anyone from Northbridge? I have my pocket knife out and I'm feeling STABBY!

9. Too bad for Hardaway that the KKK won't take him!
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 11:19 PM by Pushed To The Left
He seems to have the same mentality. Maybe Hardaway can sue the KKK to force them to let in people like him who are every bit as hateful and stupid as they are!

13. Methinks the man doth protest too much.
Latency, anyone?

In any case, what IS it with straight men who are so obsessed with what gay men might be thinking in the locker room? Are they so full of themselves that they assume every gay man out there must be hot for them?

14. Ted Haggard comes to mind
Many times, it seems like the most anti-gay people end up being the ones who are dealing with their own homosexual feelings.

16. Honestly, I think the vast majority of homophobes are just bigots, not latent gays.
You're right about straight men thinking gay men are checking them out, though. Women aren't like that and the guys that are always worried about men checking them out are always the men LEAST likely to be checked out by gay guys. Really they should stop flattering themselves that way.

35. You don't remember Tim Hardaway, that tall mug of hot chocolate we had the three-way with?
Just as well he couldn't do any trash-talking as his mouth was always stuffed with something or other.

Or was it that other guy?

24. But here's the good part
of the article, and bears repeating

''We are much further behind than I'd like,'' Amaechi said. ``People in America and England would like to think racism is over, sexism is over, and homophobia is over, but it's not. My coming out will show that gay people don't all look like Jack from Will and Grace. Some of us are big, athletic men, and that should be OK.''

Amaechi said he had not heard from a single former teammate or NBA player, that he had only heard from former coach Doc Rivers. He challenged straight athletes ''who feel able'' to stand up for gay rights.

''I would like professional male athletes to be active supporters, and that doesn't mean putting a rainbow decal on their car,'' he said. ``It means letting other guys in the locker room know that it's not OK to make gay jokes, that it's hurtful, and that it's not OK to be homophobic.

``But it's hard to get straight guys to step up. When men stood by women during the suffrage movement, they were called progressive and bold. When whites stood by blacks, they were heroes. But a straight guy standing up for a gay guy faces discrimination, and that's a big part of the battle we're fighting.''

For those who don't know, that's openly gay pro-wrestler Chris Kanyon!

34. Actually I heard Kanyon
is just using it as a gimmick (like goldust), and is saying he was fired by the WWE because he was gay.

Pat Patterson is a legit openly gay pro wrestler, He's been retired for a number of years, but even when he was still an active wrestler it was common knowledge that he was gay. He's now a top executive for the WWE and well respected in the wrestling business, which kind of makes Kanyon's claim phony.

36. Yah Patterson is gay.
I remember Jim Ross making a mention of giving his well wishes to Robertson whose life partner had just passed away once

He if I remember correctly came up with the Royal Rumble idea.. which as a wrestling fan . . makes him forever great in my eyes :).

I know there has to be more than one gay (or bi) wrestler out there.. just non come to mind.

As for Kanyon . . I think he's doing it as a gimmick . . but I honestly couldn't say of course.

27. "It shouldn't be in the world..."
But since it is in the world one can either be an angry asshole or accept reality the way it is and not the way one assumes it ought to be.

It wasn't too long ago when many white Americans were saying the same thing about Blacks.
