So I'm a little freaked out right now. I'm at school this morning and I get this call from my OB/GYN docs office. Missed it because I was in class, but I called them back as soon as I got out. Seems that I have an abnormal PAP smear and they're all worried about it and want to do a colposcopy (look at my cervix microscopically is the simple explanation for this term). Now my brain is going out of control and I'm thinking worst case scenarios here, especially with my age and all :scared:


The worst thing is that they can't do this at my normal OB visit for the pregnancy next Thursday and the soonest they could fit me in for this is March 8th.... how am I not going to go insane waiting that long??? I did ask them to put me on the cancellation list, so maybe I can get in earlier that way. Send me some good mojo, fellow Lounge Lizards. I have this sinking feeling I'm going to need all I can get :scared:

1. Please;don't worry. Most of the women I know have had the exact same thing.

Only one of them had to have any (outpatient; very minor) surgery and it was for PRE-cancerous cells.
It is, strangely enough, NORMAL to have an AB-normal pap these days. It's usually nothing big at all. Hell; I just had one; although I know what the problem is (don't want to discuss that here). Nothing I can do about it and it is not dangerous to me really--I just have to keep going to my yearly checkups.
Please relax. 95% of these are nothing to worry about.

The other part is giving me this overwhelming urge to go running into the doc's office, throw myself on an examining table, put my feet in those stirrups and scream, "Get in there NOW!! And don't come back out until you're ready to tell me that everything is perfectly okay"..... what can I say? I'm insane :blush:
