25. Rasha
Her song Salib Fuadi is the most spiritual song I've ever heard in my life. It is something about the tone of her voice that is almost holy, or I should say it is holy. It never fails to affect me in a positive way when I listen to her, it's like she was touched by the heavens when she was born or something.

Here is a song from youtube, a Nubian song. This is nothing like Salib Fuadi but it does showcase her beautiful tone
Diyo Wo Ailan

I also love Christine Kane's voice and Laura Love as well, not because of range but because of their spirituality and how it comes through in their music.

28. Speaking or singing?
Speaking -- Orson Welles, Burgess Meredith, Sean Connery.

Singing -- Thomas Hampson, known as Thomas Handsome to opera groupies. He's a baritone and has a CD out of Stephen Foster songs. Pavarotti was good thirty-five years ago. As far as tenors go, Placido Domingo still has his dignity & his voice.

Bryn Terfel.

Women -- Teresa Stratas, Beverly Sills for coloratura noodling, Cyndi Lauper, Linda Ronstadt.

Rock singers -- John Lennon & Paul McCartney & Harry Nilsson. Mushy stuff -- Josh Groban.

NOTE: Andrea Bocelli is NOT an opera singer. He doesn't have the technique for it. Sorry. He's a pop singer and decent but not outstanding.

My brain is tired, there are so many incredible female singers, I can't choose. Nina Simone comes to mind for female singers, though, and there will never be another Janis Joplin for pure gut-wrenching emotion.

edit to add: I always loved Enya's voice, too.
