DaVinci Code fans...look what's coming.
An article in todays NYT, "Dear Dan Brown, All Eyes Are on You", by Janet Maslin, lists more than ten copy-cat books coming soon.

Brotherhood Of The Shroud - Julia Navarr
Book Of Air And Shadows - Michael Gruber
The Alexandria Link - Steve Berry
The Thirteenth Tale - Diane Setterfield
The Unholy Grail - D.L. Wilson
Napoleon's Pyramid's - William Dietrich
The Echelon Vendetta - David Stone
The Fifth Vial - Michael Palmer
The Mosaic Crimes - Giulo Leoni
The Grave Tattoo - Val McDermid
The Machiavelli Covenant - Allan Folsom

These should keep us busy while we wait for Dan Brown's own copy-cat book (tentatively titled "The Solomon Key) is published.

3. Yeah, the movie was really awful...
...but the amazing thing is how much money the book and all of the copy-cats are pulling in. And the big buck$$ keep coming.

4. The book was pretty good actually. I couldn't believe how much the movie stunk.
How on earth they could screw that up I don't know but they did.

One thing I'm glad about: it got the Catholic Church hierarchy's panties in a twist! You'd think it was the second coming of Martin Luther!

5. Tom Clancy needs to get in on this Jesus stuff....
"The Roman soldier, perspiring in the hot, punishing sun, raised is Roman Heavy Industries Hammer Mark IVAlpha high above his head, its hand-forged head glinting in the sun yet reflected by his expertly crafted visor, and paused for a moment. Below him lay a man, thrashed beyond anything 6 platoons of Navy Seals could dish out in as much time, bleeding faster than a .50 cal slug to a professional wrestler's femoral artery and quickly bloodening his prison-issued robes"

or something

6. To be fair--there's a long history of similar books...
...from way before "Da Vinci Code"...thrillers about lost historical secrets and odd byways of history, with ramifications in the modern world. I don't remember the titles, and most of them are remaindered memories, but check your local library--you're bound to find some...and, incidentally, "The Machiavelli Covenant", which I'm currently reading, is pretty good...
