The Lunesta Luna Moth.

Seems very peaceful and comforting to me. However, Mrs. XNASA views it with trepidation.

Your thoughts?

1. I saw one take its first flight! Amazing!
The lunar moth was at the farm where I board my horse. It had hatched out of its cocoon onto the side of one of the feed cart tires which was parked in the barn. We did not see it until we were up the lane. We took it off with a leaf and put it on the leaf on the ground near one of the pastures. It was all wet and still with its wings spread out. Then, it start shaking and flapping and quivering for about 60 seconds. All of a sudden, it shot up into the air and flew into the top of a 50 foot tall tree! Wow! It was so beautiful and chartreuse green just like in the Lunesta ad. I'm sure its next flight was less frantic.

2. Never saw it before in real life
So I wouldn't know. Besides moths are slow and not TOO dangerous to humans(unless you're allergic to the)

3. Fun until they swarm you at night in massive numbers forcing you to flee
into your car at the gas station, and wait until they move on.

:scared:

4. I haven't seen any in my bedroom.
Yeah they say take the pill within thirty minutes of bedtime. Shit, I've taken one and it's taken 4 hours to work, and then I'm out cold for 13 hours. Not my favorite drug.

7. That commercial just makes me think of the Angel of Death
You're wide awake, can't sleep....then the AoD flits in, alights upon your forehead....and your troubles are no more.

Egads. But that's just me.

10. That's pretty much her take.
And wouldn't it be just like the AoD to take the form of a beautiful moth?

12. That, or Christopher Walken.
Maybe it's like "Ghostbusters", where you choose the form of your destructor.

Me, I'd opt for Christopher Walken. Except I would not want him to alight on my forehad.

Mrs. Hobarticus gets mad when I make fun of that commercial. "Nighty-night, die in your sleep...."

8. I agree w/ the Mrs.......
A large sleep-inducing moth that doesn't seem to be impeded by either doors or windows is a little creepy to me.

What does it do after you're asleep? Will it lay eggs in your skin that will inevitably burrow in to your brain to turn you into a somnambulistic zombie? What is its nefarious agenda?

Or, maybe I'm reading too much into this.

9. Luna moths don't have mouths and that alone freaks me out.
I still think they are beautiful, but that doesn't seem right.

13. One found its way into my high school biology classroom...
...many many ages ago. It was huge, and gorgeous! I remember the teacher wasn't quite sure what to do with it, since it was in the middle of the day; he said if he put it outside right then, the birds would get it, but wasn't sure where to keep it meanwhile. I don't remember what he ended up doing; I assume he kept it in a safe place and then took it home to release it at night. I got to let it walk over my hand, though. Amazingly cool! One of my few pleasant memories of high school was that biology class.

14. I remember they were very common
when I was young. One used to land on the small window (outside) of the bathroom, where we always left a light on. Really eerie coming home at night and seeing this.

Haven't seen one in many, many years.

15. The moth itself is pretty. Lunesta the drug can cram it
because their advertisements on Antiques Roadshow piss me off. (I know how insane that makes me sound, yes.)

Anyway, all the other sponsors at least make an effort to make some kind of PBS-y ad/underwriting spot, but Lunesta just has a picture of their logo and that voiceover lady saying "Lunesta is proud to sponsor Antiques Roadshow where we reveal our treasures, and experts reveal our treasured past" in this voice that makes it sound like that sentence--essentially the mission statement of Antiques Roadshow that even a complete idiot could figure out after seeing 4 seconds of the show--is somehow this Big Reveal about what the show is and Oh, Thank Heavens Lunesta Was Kind Enough To Point That Out To Me.

I fucking know what Antiques Roadshow is, ok Lunesta? That's why I watch it each week. Now make your copywritng intern earn that college credit, will ya please?

Sorry, but it's been bugging me for months and like I said, I am aware of how pointless a thing that is to be mad at. And yet, every Monday it pisses me off. What can you do?

16. We haven't spoken in a while
but I will not forget.

Just got back from the BX3 show at the Cubby Bear. I know this technical stuff isn't your bag but I think you may have liked this one. When they did Big Bottom from Spinal Tap you would have been hooked!

Not lunesta related, with no sleep in mind,

Scuba

My Grandmother was named Vesta.... What about that?
