New item on my desk or what LeftyMom already enjoys:

And I'm playing with a new photo software at the same time - this is actually a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging">HDR image, made from three different images with different exposure (one with flash, one without the flash and one without the desk lamp turned on). Therefore it looks so neat. ;)

It's a JBL ON TIME, loudspeaker system for any iPod, with my Video iPod mounted. What can I say, it's darn cool! :woohoo:

3. Thanks!
What kind do you get? (You'll love it.) I just got my old Nano back, since Heidi got the red Nano today and my old speaker system.

Have fun! :hi:

6. I'm getting the black 80 GB video iPod...in about two hours.
:D I already have a speaker system, which is actually rather jury rigged consisting of a set of Altec-Lansing iPod speakers with a charger and a full Harman-Kardon speaker set with a subwoofer. It sounds really good. :D

I'm also nerdy enough to be getting a biggest iPod out yet because I need more hard disk space. :P :hi:

8. LOL!
I have a 30 GB one. I have all my music on it (300 MB) and 2 seasons of BSG and additional music videos/movies and still have 25 GB left ... But you know, I usually delete old stuff and replace it. ;)

9. I'm a hog.
 I rarely delete anything. Except for some of the music that's in my library for no reason and I don't even particularly like.

I also plan to use it as a backup harddrive until I have enough to buy my second laptop. :P

11. My best friend uses his 80 GB one as a storage device for his pictures.
But you know, it's a bit slow to use it like that. I just didn't see the need for myself to get a bigger one, since all the music I like did fit on my old 2 GB Nano. Everything else is videos. :)

4. I'm happy with the outcome.
I like the surreal touch of it, and that's only my second pic using HDR software. Here's how it kinda works: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=280&topic_id=26533&mesg_id=26533

7. Takes any iPod.
There are several models out, and I just saw that they're way cheaper in the US. Check the apple.com store, I believe it's about $250, but you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

16. hahaha, good one; does it play loud!!!
cause sometimes you need the entire range, oh wait, you mentioned online speakers or some such? does it all come through your compu speak'z...cause we have external surrond and so *that* would be kewl too :)

17. For MilliVanilli, you don't need any range, really. ;)
I didn't hook the computer up to it, only the iPod, and for this it's sufficient and nice. If you want HighEnd sound for the audiophiles, that's probably not the right thing. But I'm happy with it.

And this from someone who's best friend makes loudspeakers the audiophiles drool over it. :)

I was joking. My iPod is MilliVanilli-free. No Modern talking either. No Dieter Bohlen at all. That is my silent protest.

26. that was lovely, CMW, you just found the pathway to the heart inside my head...
when i worked in the music bizz i went into empty arenas as well, and those scenes took me back home, always loved the process unto completion, the piece by piece setup and sooner still the bouncing audience atop lovely/groovy tunes...thanks, friend

Deep Forest - Sweet Lullaby *sigh* no, i never worked for Deep Forest, i just like them allot :hi:

18. It's only expensive here ...
If I could have gotten it in the US, I would have saved $100. But I would also had to rewire the thing, since we're on 220 volt A/C and different plug-ins.

It's nice, nonetheless. But my pic looks almost too good. :)

27. Is it supposed to look like a Stargate?
It kinda does.

Would that work with my non-ipod MP3 player? It does not seem like a necessary item anyway, except maybe for my car. All of my songs are on my computer anyway, so why not just get bigger speakers and a power amplifier for my computer? Okay, maybe to save on RAM, but I probably have more RAM than I do desk space

28. I have a similar black one (mine does not tell time)
It looks, if you'd believe it, even more like the Stargate than that.

It'll work with other MP3 players, you just can't dock thhem and have to use a line in instead.

In the car you'd need a power inverter too. For the price, if that's all you'd use it for a car stereo with MP3 playback would be cheaper.
