Why does most popular music seem to focus on two subjects:
Love and pain? My daughter and her friend and I were talking about this and it seems that most songs are, in one way or another, about these two subjects.
My daughter is a budding musician, and she says she is going to write music about novelty lights and cashews...think it'll catch on?? *LOL*

1. Universal in concept...
...almost everyone has felt love and pain.

I like cashews - I might dig that tune. :D

5. Hey that's a good one...I'll let her know! I can just hear her giggling
now...if you have ever seen "Daria" you have a little idea of my youngest; very dry humor, intensely liberal and very politically aware, speaks in a monotone most of the time, but she's hilarious and I am nuts about her.

6. Exactly! Just variants on the theme (with some possible confusion on
equating sex with love)

He writes about everything.. Love, pain, hate, sorrow, death, drugs, work, life, the brain, cars, alcohol, god, the devil, ego, assholes, jerks, slacking, laziness, money, weird people, food and politics.

Pop stinks.

10. Your general subject - love - is minimal!
It's sex for profit.

(Of course, he's wrong.)
