Kinda like sake.

My ni-chan told me that S-A-K-E is the proper spelling, but most Japanese go along with
S-A-K-I because otherwise it gets pronounced 'sayk' rather than 'SA-kay'.
Sake does make a great marinade ingredient...and a splash in ramen noodles does wonders for the palatability.

I've tried both...my reaction to natto was "How can you eat this stuff?!" :puke:
