which is pretty much the exact opposite of what you want to happen. It will also dampen the response of your sympathetic nervous system, which is also not what you want.

Drink a lot of water instead.

14. Vin chaud!
Red wine gently heated with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and orange slice. Then add brandy or Cointreau or Gran Marnier.

It'll warm you and help you sleep and the spices are good for congestion and the orange adds vitamin C.

btw watch that you don't mix booze with the wrong kind of cold remedy, you may have an adverse reaction.
