Poll question: ipod or zune?
i had a zen. i didn't like it, and it didn't work right. i took it back, got a credit, and did get a 30G ipod. but i haven't opened it yet. i could take it back. my son says- zune, my daughter says- ipod. (got a couple more who have not been polled.)
the main thing that i want it for is to download randi, thom, et al, and listen in my studio. (believe it or not, the zen did not fast forward.) i will put music on it, but not tons. maybe some pdf's to read. not likely to put much video on there.

2. PDA
Costs as much as an i*** or z*** but can do a whole lot more for the price and I don't need 4GB, never mind 40GB...

9. A good strategic time waster too - ever play "Warfare Incorporated"?
The game is pretty good given its constraints - a time and tested formula, and many of the free-to-download missions are surprisingly tougher than what comes with the game; they require ingenuity probably not fathomed by the original developer.

10. my designated time waster- du
never really got into gaming much. the sims were fun for a while, back when they were little black dots streaming around town. but i am just already adequate at wasting time.

5. kicking for more opinions.
and to say that i was having my usual internal debate regarding anything microsoft- is compatibility worth putting up with monopoly? i do run windows, use word, excel, etc but i try to avoid the spawn on bill where i can.

11. ipod is nice
and I haven't even learned how to use it completely. All I have on it is music and audiobooks, no podcasts, or movies yet.

I also have an old iRiver mp3 thing. It doesn't hold as much (1/2 Gig) but it also has FM so it still gets used.

I haven't seen a zune. I need to get out more.

12. Keep the ipod.
Everybody and their mom knows how to work it and you can get extra stuff for it anywhere.

The Zune is a flop. The software is clumsy and it just feels cheap compared to the ipod.
