Anybody up for some dream analysis?
I just woke up from a horrific nightmare.

In the beginning of the dream I'm hanging out at a party with some friends. At the party I smoke some weed which really surprises my friends. It turns out that I have a new job to go to and they may or may not drug test me so I'm taking a big risk just to have a good time. Later on we are watching tv and it seems that people are notified that they have to take a drug test via the tube. I watch relieved has the next person isn't me.

Then the dream jumps to a big warehouse sort of building with lots of people in it. We are a country at war and we are expecting that the enemy is going to bomb us tonight. The atmosphere is strange, though. People are acting as if the occasion is reason for some kind of party. Nobody at all seems scared but me. The song "Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath starts playing on the intercom in the building. A buddy that was at the party from the night before asks me if I've done my drug test yet. And I say that nobody has asked me to, although it fells like a lie. It feels like something I should have done.

Then I take a seat in a chair that oddly has a seat belt to it and I strap myself in. The wall that I'm facing becomes translucent as if it were a big window. I can see the bombs hitting coming closer and closer to us. I grab onto a pole that is beside me as I cringe in fear. The bombs get closer. The there are planes zipping by us overhead. I can see their shadow in the building somehow. They are swarming like bees. Then a bomb hits the building that I'm in and I wake up.

A couple of things that are going on with me right now. I've just got a new truck driving job that is really kicking my ass right now because I'm out of shape. I like the job and I like getting the workout every night. I'm just really trying hard not to screw up right now as I'm still in my probationary period. I haven't smoked marijuana ever since I started driving a truck which was about 10 years ago. By federal law a trucking company has to randomly drug test 50% of their truck drivers every year. I'm not about to do something that would mess up my job like that. Not only would that get me fired, but a positive drug test would also follow me around and make it very difficult for me to get a job in trucking. I also have no desire to use illegal drugs.

I love Black Sabbath. They are one of my all time favorite bands.

I've heard that a building in a dream represents your state of mind. If that is the case in my dream, I cannot think of anything that has happened or is going to happen to get myself "bombed" mentally speaking. Is this dream merely a representation of my attitude about drugs now days or is there something more sinister going on here?

1. It sounds like you're putting yourself under a lot of pressure
Maybe even more than your employer.

Having a "probationary" period can do that to people. But hey, you haven't been doing drugs, so you don't have anything to worry about there. :-)

The only real problem you seem to have is that you're out of shape. How long have you had the gig? It shouldn't take long to get in shape since you're working every night. Maybe your doctor or a gym trainer could recommend some exercises that will help, too. Be sure to eat well...get enough protein and calcium, and so forth. And perhaps most important, make sure you get enough rest.

Sorry if this sounds like an over-simplification of your dream. I hope you soon are through the probationary period.

2. I've been on the job for about a month and a half
I haven't had much physical activity in about a year and I put on 30 pounds in that time. No time for the gym.

3. You're probably a lot more in shape now than
you were when you started, but it's hard to realize since you're still feeling sore. Make sure you're lifting things wisely, so you don't throw your back out...

5. OK...You win...That is truly terrifying...
Now that I think about mine, mine is just strange, and I really shouldn't have been freaked by it.

Was to show that two people had dreamed about and had wrote about war in the same night. I find that interesting.

7. It is really interesting...
And it's three. I think GoddessofGuinness dreamed about the same thing. I need to stop watching Jericho.
I'm terrified of Nuclear war.

8. There is a site called Dreamschool that will interpret your dream
They interpret one dream for every person.

www.dreamschool.org

I know bomb is uncontrolled change.
A building is the condition of your mind, like you say.
Drugs interfere with your will.
TV is use of your imagination.
A window is awareness of yourself.

Overall, I think the dream is you becoming aware of changes that are happening in your life, but you feel you don't control them.

9. Thanks Annces
I appreciate the link.

You might be on to something there with your interpretation. The big change is in my job, but I like the job. The problem with it is that I'm the "floater." Everybody that works there has their own route to do. I fill in for people when they need some time off. It's full time work, but I'm still at the whim of my bosses who can change everything up to the last minute. It's also more stressfull than knowing what you are doing every night, and like I said, I do not have permanent status there at the job yet. Even a little screw up has the potential to end my employment there.

As for any other changes, I can't think of any that have surfaced in my consciousness yet. But the unconscious may be aware of things before I've picked up on them in my waking perception.
