Can someone explain the Barry Gibb Talk Show to me
I get the white suits, the hair, the beard, the talking with the vibrato, and Justin Timberlake does look oddly like Robin.

But what's with the whole psycho - I'm Barry Gibb and I'm going to kill you on live television.

As far as i know Barry Gibb has always been a soft spoken gentile guy - where did this violent rage getting set off at the slightest offense come from?

1. "Gentile"?
Giggle

I know it's a typo, but it gave me a good laugh -- thanks!

2. I can't answer your question but I did think that it was a very odd
thing to write a sketch about. In 2007.

What's next? Is SNL going lampoon Troy Donahue?

3. I think that's the point of the sketch, to turn his image on its head.
Well that and to keep Jimmy Fallon working for a week.

It WAS funny the first time they did it.

4. I always thought that was weird, too.

5. Me too!
When were you thirteen - me, 1976 - BEFORE You Should Be Dancing Came Out. The Main Course album sucked me in, I went back and discovered all their old stuff and then tried to defend them thru the disco era. I don't know if it was drugs or what, but they definitely lost something when they went falsetto. Vibrato good, falsetto bad. I even went to see Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.

I had a scrapbook and the whole works. My GF who's 8 years younger than me went thru the same thing except for her it was Duran Duran.

7. I was 13 in '79.
I think I first got into the BeeGees in about '78 or so, when Saturday Night Fever started. I remember watching them strut down the street in white suits singing "Stayin' Alive." Soon after, cut-out pictures of Barry and the gang went up in my school locker.

8. It's called "over the top"
That's part of comedy. As a matter of fact, Barry was asked about it, he loves the sketch to death. So don't be surprised if they do another and the real thing shows up.
