102. I want to go the annual Mullet Toss in FL. next year.

That is a really exciting time where a bunch of extremely bored and/or
just plain weird people get together and have a contest to see
who can toss a dead mullet the farthest. Or is it furthest?
The event takes place in the spring in the Fl panhandle region
where the contestants hurl their fish across a little body of water into
Alabama.

I have always wanted to go just to see what kind of prize a person
receives for excelling at flinging fish across the state line.

4. speaking of pie
I think the Rockies took a major step backwards when they traded Jason Jennings. Not only did it tragically weaken the team, it convinced fans that their "rebuilding with exciting young players" marketing message of the last decade is a lie. (People around here are a little slow on the uptake.)

42. most people don't know this, but
the continental divide has been getting wider and wider every year.

Ever since it was created 6000 years ago, the cumulative weight of all the people in the South and in parts of upstate New York and western Pennsylvania (not to mention Wisconsin--oh shit! I mentioned WIsconsin! Twice! Aaacck!) has been outstripping the cumulative weight of the pop culture emanating from Hollywood, causing the continental divide to stretch. It's now over 300 miles wide in some spots. If you spill water there, or take a leak, or whatever involving liquids, it does not know which way to flow, so it creates a rip in the fabric of the earth's fragile magnetic field. This is the actual cause of unexplained phenomena like UFO's, people voting Republican and reality TV.

Most people don't know this.

:)

Did she also read to you or encourage you to read?

My mom told me she wanted me to read "Little Women" when I was only four. So, I did. And that pretty much messed me up, especially that part where Jo turns Laurie down.

lol

67. I had an Army bud whose nickname was "Pie"
"Pie" Cooper was what he preferred to be called, or just plain "Pie". I was never sure what his real first name was, Roger maybe, but we all knew him as Pie. I asked him where that moniker came from and he told me this tale: As a young child he was pulling on the table cloth which was spread over a pic-nic table at a church event and inadvertently caused a pie to fall on him. His relatives referred to him as the "Pie Guy" after that and the nick name was eventually shortened to "Pie"
I have been out of the Army for over 30 years now...I wonder if Mr. Cooper still uses that nick name.

She was a sweet mom and sweeter once we relieved her of her litter and made sure she'd never have to do that again.

Here's to you, Pie!

Imelda (after Marcos -- because she needed so MUCH shoe work) and Leona (after Helmsley because she was so audacious)

I'm not sure what they wouldn't eat. I mostly tried to just stay clear of their hind legs. :)

109. They Walk Among Us', AND they reproduce!!!
From a collection posted by many on the internet..............

Add your favorites:

I walked into a Blimpie's with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a sandwich. I handed it to the girl and she looked over at a little chalkboard that said "buy one-get one free". "They're already buy-one-get-one-free", she said, "so I guess they're both free".
She handed me my free sandwiches and I walked out the door.
'They Walk Among Us'

One day I was walking down the beach with some friends when one of them shouted, "Look at that dead bird!" Someone looked up at the sky and said, "Where?"
'They Walk Among Us'! :silly:

I used to work in technical support for a 24/7 call center. One day I got a call from an individual who asked what hours the call center was open. I told him, "The number you dialed is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." He responded, "Is that Eastern or Pacific time?" Wanting to end the call quickly, I said, "Uh, Pacific."
'They Walk Among Us'! :dunce:

My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk.
'They Walk Among Us'! :spank:

I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain. My friend said, "Wouldn't the chain rip out every time she turned her head?"
I explained that a person's nose and ear remain the same distance apart no matter which way the head is turned.
'They Walk Among Us'! :banghead:

190. That always happens with pictures.
I like to put all my pictures in a big cardboard box that I keep in the kitchen pantry. They aren't organized or anything, but it's easy to take all those misplaced pictures and put them in the big carboard box. The same thing with recipes. I don't use an index file box for those. They always get really cruddy once I make the recipe, anyway. The last time I cooked something new, the recipe was on a napkin. It was good, too--green bean salad.

Some nitpicking egghead pedant claimed that "pi" is pronounced like "pee".

"pot" just makes me want "pie".

Someone should invent a "pot pie".
